Tour Handbook

Tour: Any Amateur Class disc golfers as defined by the PDGA

PDGA Members and non-members are welcome to compete. 

  • At PDGA C Tier events, a $10 fee for non-PDGA members will be charged, but the PDGA will credit the $10 as a discount toward a new PDGA membership if the player would like to join the PDGA after the event.
  • If a competitor does not currently have a PDGA player status/rating, please see the “competition and etiquette” portion of the player’s handbook.
  • If a PDGA member does not have amateur status with the PDGA at the time of competition, they are eligible to compete so long as they meet the PDGA qualifications for the “pros playing am” rule… Failure to comply with the rules will result in the competitor forfeiting any national or regional payout awards and/or invites to the National Championships.
    1. No player with a “Professional” classification prior to qualifying may earn invites to the Junior Championships or the National Championships.
    2. Any player who qualifies as an “amateur” may become a “Professional” after qualification, and still be eligible for the Tour Finale.
    3. Players who wish to reclassify as Amateur must formally submit a request to PDGA.
    4. Players who qualify at Exclusive, Cee-Time and Afilliate events, who earn an invite to the Junior or National Championships but turn professional after qualifying will no longer be eligible to compete in either event. These players will not earn automatic invites into the tour finale but can request a “Wildcard” exemption, this request must be submitted prior to December 1st, 2023.

REGISTRATION

REFUNDS/WITHDRAWALS:

    1. Exclusive/C-Tier Events
      1. Refund requests made 14 days prior to the event will be issued a 100% refund less DGScene and PayPal Fees
      2. Refund requests made within 14 days of the event will be subject to a $5 fee (if the spot is filled). If the spot is unable to be filled, a player pack will be shipped directly to the address provided when registering for the event.
    2. Legacy Events/Premier Events/National Championship
      1. Refund requests made 14 days prior to the event will be issued a 100% refund less DGScene and PayPal Fees
      2. Refund requests made within 14 days of the event will be subject to a $5 fee (if the spot is filled). If the spot is unable to be filled, a player pack will be shipped directly to the address provided when registering for the event.

LATE FEES:

A standard $8 for Exclusives/C-Tier Exclusive, $10 for State Finale Series/Premiers, late shipping fee will be added to registration after players packs are ordered for the event, approximately two weeks prior to the event.

Late fees sole purpose is for shipping of the player’s package directly to the player. No player’s pack will be available at the event for any player who incurred a late fee.

NO-SHOWS:

All events; Competitors will be treated as ‘no-shows’ if they do not check-in by the published time. Any no-show competitors who have not withdrawn as per above forfeit their entry fee and players package.

COMPETITION & ETITQUETTE

All National Amateur Disc Golf Tour Tournaments will follow the Official Rules of Disc Golf as defined by the Professional Disc Golf Association and the Professional Disc Golf Association Competition Manual for Disc Golf Events unless superseded or contradicted by any statement in this handbook.

All PDGA Divisions are hosted by the NADGT Tour and will be offered per the guidelines of the Professional Disc Golf Association and at the discretion of the TD. The NADGT National Championships, a PDGA Pro/Am Invitational tournament, will crown champions in the MA40(Competing as MP40), and MA50(Competing as MP50) FA40 (Competing FP40) only. MA1, FA1, MA60, FA50, MA2, FA2, MA3, FA3 will be invited, and will be playing in the PDGA amateur side of the event. The Junior NADGT National Championships is an amateur tournament and will crown champions in the MJ18, FJ18, MJ15, FJ15, and MJ12 Divisions.

Any exceptions to the Official Rules at a specific NADGT Tournament will be announced at the players meeting prior to the event.

All competitors in NADGT Tournaments are expected to compete with the highest integrity and respect for the Official Rules as defined by the PDGA. Any competitor guilty of misconduct is subject to disciplinary action up to disqualification by the Tournament Director. Any competitor disqualified from a NADGT Tournament automatically forfeits: any further participation in 2024 NADGT tournaments, prize payouts, player package, and, if applicable, refunds therefrom.

Any appeals must be made in writing via email to the NADGT Tour Director and allow a minimum of 3 weeks for response.

NADGT event competitors will receive invites and points when competing in all NADGT events including National Championships.

2024 NADGT National Championships in Austin Texas

– Wednesday, November 6th thru Saturday, November 9th
– PDGA Sanctioned Amateur A/B-Tier Tournament
– Invite Only

General Overview:

The 2024 NADGT National Championships will be an Amateur Only A-Tier event for MA1, FA1, FA50, MA60, MA2, FA2, MA3, FA3.

The 2024 NADGT National Championships will be a Professional B-Tier for MP40, FP40, and MP50(Players who earn invitations from MA40, MA50 and FA40)! These divisions will be playing for the opportunity to accept Cash and Turn Pro! Payouts will be to the top 40% of the Fields with Video Coverage and more during the event in Austin! These players will have the opportunity to decline the cash payout and receive merchandise vouchers to maintain their amateur status.

Top performers in MA1 and FA1 divisions will be competing for an invitation to the NADGT Tour Finale event in early 2025 (Date TBA). The 2024 Tour Finale event will be a professional event with Payouts to the Top 40%, Video Coverage and More!

Invitations to National Championship & Qualifying Standards:

The National Championships is an event that is intended to invite the top amateur competitors in the country in the following divisions:

MA1, MA2, MA3, MA40, MA50, MA60, FA1, FA40, FA50, FA2, FA3

Top finishers will receive invites based on their division.

NADGT Premiers and Legacy Events, 

  • Top 40% of ALL MA1/MA2/MA3/MA40/MA50/MA60 + Ties
  • Top 50% of ALL Women’s and Junior Divisions + Ties

Exclusives, C-Tiers and CeeTimes

  • Top 25% of ALL MA1/MA2/MA3/MA40/MA50 + Ties
  • Top 40% of ALL MA60, Women’s and Junior Divisions + Ties

Field/Divisions:

MA1/FA1/MA2/FA2/MA3/FA3/MA40/FA40/MA50/FA50/MA60
-Am Only to participate in Nationals.  

  • Juniors that qualify will be allowed to compete in any division that their rating permits them to play
  • Play your rating. NADGT will NOT allow the season-long rating variable for “Tours or Series”. While this is a great feature on the local/state level, with our tour and size, it is showing to be an abused and exploited system. Play where you qualified until your rating says you cannot.

No rating caps are being used at the National Championships, to qualify players must be “PDGA Amateur Worlds eligible”. More information can be found here

Premier Events/National Championship: Refund requests made before 10/23/2024 will be issued a 100% refund, less DGScene, and PayPal Fees. Refund requests made after 10/23/2024 will be mailed a player pack from the event.

Junior National Championships

Denver, Colorado 8/9-8/11/2024

MJ18 / FJ18 / MJ15 / FJ15 / MJ12

  • Juniors that qualify for NADGT Nationals will be able to compete at Junior Nationals (as a Junior), at Nationals (as a Recreational, Intermediate, or Advanced based on handicap and PDGA guidelines), or at both.
  • Courses and Venues to accommodate more than 400 Juniors.
  • Courses and layouts will be division and player appropriate.

Top 5 MJ18 and Top 3 FJ18 receive an invite for the 2024 Tour Finale.

No rating caps are being used at the Junior Championships, to qualify players must be “PDGA Amateur Worlds eligible”. More information can be found here

NADGT reserves the right to change tournament dates, field sizes, formats, prizes, and locations. All such changes will be communicated as necessary. NADGT reserves the right to change prizes, prize value, or substitutions. In the event of a substitution, all efforts will be made to provide an alternative of equal or greater value. Prizes are non-transferable, other than cash prizes which may be awarded to the Winner’s parent/legal guardian if they are minor; Prize winners are solely responsible for all applicable taxes related to accepting the prize. Winners may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility, a liability release, a publicity release (unless prohibited by law), and tax documents (the “Documents”). If the winner does not complete the required Documents as instructed and/or return the required Documents within the time period listed on the Winner notification message, the prize will be forfeited. NADGT reserves the right to award any forfeited prizes as they see fit or not at all.
