TOUR HANDBOOK

Tour: All amateur class disc golfers as defined by the PDGA. https://www.pdga.com/divisions In addition any player who is eligible for Amatuer play based on their rating and has not won more than $3,000 cash in PDGA career earnings is eligible for play.

Two additions to be eligible for play :

1. Players must be rated <1000 when registering for their first event on the tour. (a player may start under a 1000 and if they climb over 1000 during the year they are still eligible).

2. Players who have earned >$1000 in the current year they are competing for the NADGT championships will not be eligible.

PDGA Members and non-members are welcome to compete. Non-member PDGA fee of $10 will be charged, but the PDGA will credit the $10 as a discount toward a new PDGA membership if the player would like to join the PDGA after the event.

If a competitor does not currently have a PDGA player status/rating please see the “competition and etiquette” portion of this handbook.

If a PDGA member does not have amateur status with the PDGA at the time of competition, they are eligible to compete so long as they meet the PDGA qualifications for “pros playing am” rule.. Failure to comply with the rules will result in the competitor forfeiting any national or regional payout awards and/or invites to the National Championship.

For reference, PDGA accepted rating thresholds to be eligible for the tour if you are not a true amateur.

The player’s rating is…

  1. less than 970 for males under 40 years of age throughout the calendar year
  2. less than 935 for males of ages 40-49 throughout the calendar year
  3. less than 900 for males of ages 50-59 throughout the calendar year
  4. less than 850 for males of ages 60-69 throughout the calendar year
  5. less than 800 for males of age 70 or older throughout the calendar year
  6. less than 875 for females under 40 years of age throughout the calendar year
  7. less than 825 for females of ages 40-49 throughout the calendar year
  8. less than 775 for females of ages 50-59 throughout the calendar year
  9. less than 725 for females of ages 60-69 throughout the calendar year
  10. less than 700 for females of ages 60-69 throughout the calendar year

 

Update to announcement of NADGT finals:

  • This only refers to players who are currently registered for the championships  . Regular eligibility for 2021 will stay the same.
  • All players who are currently registered for the National championships will be grandfathered in under these new restrictions:
  • You must not have a rating over 1010
  • You may now have career cash of $4000
  • Still only $1000 allowed to earn in 2021
  • Any player whom’s rating climbs more than 39 points will be bumped up a division.If your rating climbs over 970  but not above 1010 and you have less than $4000 in career or $1000 in 2021 you will still be eligible.

REGISTRATION:

NADGT TD’s will seek to open registration a minimum of 3 weeks prior to any event whenever possible. TD’s must use Disc Golf Scene for tournament registration. All NADGT events and registration links may be found on the NADGT.Com website.

Registration for the National Championship Tournament is by invitation only; Qualified invitees will be sent registration information once they have qualified for an invitation as described in this handbook.

REFUNDS:

Exclusive/League/Affiliate: All competitor refunds are managed by the event TD and are to follow PDGA guidelines unless specifically noted.

Premier Events/National Championship: Competitor refund requests received 2 weeks prior to the respective tournament will be refunded in full minus any incurred administration fees (PayPal/Discgolfscene, etc.)

WITHDRAWALS:

Exclusive/League/Affiliate: All competitor withdrawals will be handled at the TD’s discretion.

Premier Events/National Championships: All competitor withdrawals within 2 weeks of the Tournament and up to 2 hours prior to the published start of the event check-in will receive, at the discretion of the Next Generation Staff, either a cash refund or players package. Next Gen Staff will seek to administer any such requests within 30 days after the event is completed.

NO-SHOWS:

All events; Competitors will be treated as ‘no-shows’ if they do not check-in by the published time. Any no-show competitors who have not withdrawn as per above forfeit their entry fee and players package.

All Next Generation Tournaments will follow the Official Rules of Disc Golf as defined by the Professional Disc Golf Association and the Professional Disc Golf Association Competition Manual for Disc Golf Events unless superseded or contradicted by any statement in this handbook.

All PDGA Divisions are hosted by the NADGT Tour and will be offered per the guidelines of the Professional Disc Golf Association and at the discretion of the TD. All contested divisions with a minimum of 10 competitors regionally or nationally are eligible for the respective regional or national online payouts. The National Championship, a PDGA Pro/Am Invitational tournament for Amateurs Only, will crown champions in the MA1, FA1, MA40, MA50 divisions only. Intermediate Men will be invited, but they will be playing in an PDGA amatuer side of the event

Any exceptions to the Official Rules at a specific NADGT Tournament will be announced at the players meeting prior to the event.

All competitors in NADGT Tournaments are expected to compete with the highest integrity and respect for the Official Rules as defined by the PDGA. Any competitor guilty of misconduct is subject to disciplinary action up to disqualification by the Tournament Director. Any competitor disqualified from a NADGT Tournament automatically forfeits: any further participation in 2020 NADGT tournaments, prize payouts, player package, and, if applicable, refunds therefrom.

Any appeals must be made in writing via email to the NADGT Tour Director and allow a minimum of 3 weeks for response.

ll NADGT event competitors receive NADGT Points when competing in all NADGT Events including the National Championship.

USE:

Competitor NADGT Point Totals are the basis for regional and national rankings.

Regional Rankings-

  • Top 2 MA1 in each region will receive a PAID spot to Nationals**
  • 3rd – 10th in MA1 receive payout through NADGT.com.
  • Leader of FA1, MA40, MA50, and MA2 in each region will receive a PAID spot to Nationals*
  • 2nd – 5th in FA1, MA40, MA50, & MA2 receive payout through NADGT.com*
  • All other divisions in their region receive payout through NADGT.com.*
  • Regional Point Series concludes, and Regional payouts awarded 9/1/2020 *must have a minimum of 10 entrants
    **players have 30 days from invite to register for Nationals or spot will be forfeited

Affiliates/ C-Flex Tiers- Winner of National championship offered Divisions will receive an invite to the finals. PDGA minimum division size required.

National Points Rankings – Season-end payouts to all contested divisions:

  • National Point Series will INCLUDE Nationals.
  • National Point Series will conclude and national payouts awarded 11/11/2020.
  • All payouts based on entrants and division size.

Note: Regional and National payout tables are defined in Section 7

DEFINITION:

NADGT Points are based on PDGA points awarded at NADGT Tournaments with the exception of NADGT League events (described below). All players start with 20 points for entering any event.

Following the publication of official NADGT Tournament results on PDGA.com which include point awards, NADGT imports the PDGA point totals at the same amount awarded by the PDGA.

Exception – Premier events that are only B-tier level PDGA sanctioning will be giving 2x PDGA points for that event.

NADGT League Points: For all 1-round / league events the entire field is treated as 1 division with 1 point per player beat awarded. Each player will start with 20 points for there attendance.

TRACKING AND REPORTING

NADGT Points are tracked and reported by region and national basis; Current standings can be found via the ‘Standings’ tab on the NADGT.com website.

Individual Competitors may also review their NADGT events, point summaries, and standings via the player profiles hosted by the site.

The 2020 NADGT hosts 7 different event types of events where competitors may earn NADGT points. The event schedule may be found at http://nadgt.com/2020-schedule.php/

NEXT GEN TOURNAMENT/EVENT FORMATS:

1- NADGT EXCLUSIVE EVENT:

Description: Typically PDGA Sanctioned B-tier tournaments identified as NADGT Tour Exclusive events. Tournaments are open to all qualifying competitors of any age, skill or gender. All PDGA Divisions are hosted by the NADGT Tour and will be offered per the guidelines of the Professional Disc Golf Association and at the discretion of the TD.

For first time members, the $10 PDGA non-member fee will be collected, but can be credited to a new membership after the event is completed.

All NADGT Exclusive events are partnered with EDGE Disc Golf. A minimum of $1 per player is donated to EDGE

  • Field: Defined by TD
  • Format: minimum 2 rounds of 18 holes
  • EDGE Program:This year every Exclusive event is part of the EDGE Tournament Charity Program (TCP) event. NADGT will donate $1 per player to EDGE. NADGT TD’s may also include additional fundraisers for EDGE at their events.
  • Economics:Standard NADGT Exclusive Entry Fee: $50
  • Player Package: The Players Package is valued at approximately $75 (actual value varies by manufacturer) and includes a 2 discs or a disc and shirt, 50% off any pair of Keen shoes (nominal value $30),and a towel. Every competitor may either select from
    • Players will choose from a Discraft Disc, Innova Disc, or a NADGT Dry-fit.
    • Players will then have choice from one of 10 brands custom player packages including (in alphabetical order) Kastaplast, DGA, Discmania, Gateway,, Infinite, Latitude 64, Legacy, Millennium, MVP, ProDiscus and Prodigy; or
    • NADGT TD’s may elect to align with a single manufacturer, in that case – competitors will receive that manufacturer’s player package. Such will be clearly noted when registering.
  • Full Payout: Payouts for all NADGT Exclusive events will, at a minimum, be per PDGA standards and likely much higher. All Exclusive event payouts are hosted by NADGT.com/Infinitediscs.com and competitors may redeem their winnings with free shipping via their website.
  • Year-end Payouts: Every competitor is also eligible, via their NADGT Points, for year-end Regional and National payouts.

 2 – NADGT LEAGUE SERIES OR 1 ROUND EVENT

League Series :

  • 6 League Rounds – 1 round per day. Must be completed within 3 months
  • $60 Entry with Players Pack:
    • Choice of Innova disc or Discraft disc
    • Choice of disc from one of the other 11 brands
    • Dri-Fit shirt and towel
  • 20 Points per round + 1 point per player beat per round (all play in 1 division)
  • Winner at end of League Series gets PAID entry into any NADGT Premier event.
  • Runner-up at end of League Series gets PAID entry into any NADGT Exclusive event.
  • Works up to 10 events. Additional $10 per round for weeks 7-10. Best 6 finishes can be used.
  • $100 scrip payout at end of series.

One Round League Event

  • $20 Entry (required for 1st Single League Round)
  • Players will receive choice of a disc and towel
  • 20 Points for attending + 1 point per player beat per round (all play in 1 division).
  • Player may opt out of player packs after first League Single Round event and only compete for points for $10

Description: One round (18 holes minimum) competition following PDGA rules of competition. Treated as 1 division.

NADGT Point Factor: For all 1-round / league events the entire field is treated as 1 division with 1 point per player beat awarded. Each player starts with 20 points for attending.

Field Size: Defined by TD

Format: 1 round; minimum 18 holes

Year-end Payouts:

  • Every competitor is also eligible, via their NADGT Points, for year-end Regional and National online payouts.
  • Every 1-round competitor is eligible for a year-end payout for one round/league point earners only.

 3 – NADGT AFFILIATE EVENTS

Description: PDGA Sanctioned A-,B-,or C- tiers; For 2020, any PDGA sanctioned tournament TD may elect to affiliate with the NADGT Tour by providing competitors NADGT Player Packages. All amateur competitors in NADGT Affiliate events earn NADGT points based on PDGA tier level.

Player Package: Players Packages offer two options:

$15 per player- each player will recieve NADGT points , choice of disc from all brands, towel, abd disvount card.

$5 per player- each player will receive NADGT points and a towel.

  • one of 13 manufacturer custom player packages including (in alphabetical order)DGA Discmania, Discraft, Gateway, Kastaplast, Infinite, Innova, Latitude 64, Legacy, Millennium MVP, ProDiscus and Prodigy; or
  • NADGT TD’s may elect to align with a single manufacturer, in that case – competitors will receive that manufacturer’s player package. Such will be clearly noted when registering.

Year-end Payouts: Every affiliate competitor is also eligible, via their NADGT Points, for year-end Regional and National online payouts.

C/Flex Tier events

  • One Round Flex Start C-Tier Events on any day of the week
  • Entry fee $20-$25
  • $15 Player pack cost
    • Choice of disc from one of the 13 supporting brands
    • Towel and discount card
  • Division Winners get an invite into national Championship
  • PDGA 1x points

 4- NADGT PREMIER EVENT

Description: Multiple events per region based on participation/demand. Typically PDGA Sanctioned B- or A-Tier tournaments identified as NADGT Tour Premier events. Tournaments are open to all qualifying competitors of any age, skill or gender. All PDGA Divisions are hosted by the NADGT Tour and will be offered per the guidelines of the Professional Disc Golf Association and at the discretion of the TD. The final 9 may be filmed and edited for posting after the event.

For non-PDGA members, the $10 PDGA non-member fee will he charged but may be credited to a new membership after the event is completed.

NADGT Point Factor: stands PDGA points unless it is a B-tier Premier in which PDGA points will be 2X.

Field: Defined by TD

Format: minimum 3 rounds of 18 holes.

Economics:
Standard NADGT Premier Entry Fee: $80

Player Package: The Players Package is valued at approximately $125 (actual value varies by manufacturer) and includes a prodigy disc, a disc of choice from any of the 12 brands, tube of Zanfel,, backpack bag, and a Keen Discount card.. For the disc if choice competitors may choose from :

  • one of 13 manufacturer custom player packages including (in alphabetical order) Kastaplast, DGA, Discmania, Discraft, Gateway, Infinite, Innova, Latitude 64, Legacy, Millennium, MVP, ProDiscus, and Prodigy; or
  • NADGT TD’s may elect to align with a single manufacturer, in that case – competitors will receive that manufacturer’s player package. Such will be clearly noted when registering.

Lunches are included each day.

Full Payout: Payouts for all NADGT Premier events will, at a minimum, be per PDGA standards and likely much higher. All Premier event payouts are hosted by NADGT. Year-end Payouts: Every competitor is also eligible, via their NADGT Points, for year-end Regional and National online payouts.

The NADGT Tour continues its Canadian pilot outside of the United States. Formats, pricing and details for these are the same with additional shipping costs.

The Canadian NADGT Tour will be included in the tour and treated as its own region starting in 2020.

National Championship Invitations:

  • Will be treated the same as all other regions per the qualification table outlined in section 4.

The NADGT Tour is organized into 8 regions:

Northeast: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, West Virginia, Virginia.

Southeast:Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi.

Midwest:Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota

Central:Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas

Mountain:Colorado, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Idaho, Montana

SouthwestNew Mexico, California, Arizona, Nevada

Northwest:Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii

Canada : All Provinces.

Invitations to National Championship: Invitations to compete in the National Championships are earned by participating in the NADGT Tour.

NADGT reserves the right to have 5 Wildcard Invites to the National Championships .

Should a competitor already be invited to the National Championships, the invitation will be extended to the next qualifying competitor.

All ties will be broken by the higher of the most recent rated round and thereafter, if necessary, the next preceding round until the tie is broken.

Wildcard Invites: NADGT will award Wildcard invites at their will. When awarding invites NADGT Staff will seek to do so in a way that is fair and embraces the spirit and values of the tour.

NADGT staff may, at their discretion, set deadlines for decisions to ensure fairness to all involved. An invitation is considered accepted once the competitor registers for the tournament at www.discgolfscene.com.

Player Experience: National Championship Entry Fee: $200r.

Player Package: The Players Package is valued at approximately $350-$400 and includes discs and other products from the Tour Sponsors.

Player Amenities: Entry includes breakfast and lunch each day of the competition; a player dinners each evening except for Friday night.

NADGT National Team Members will be on site for clinics and to enhance the player experience.

Custom Trophies for all Top Finishers.

National Championships Payouts: For 2020 NADGT payouts will include cash and those who accept the cash prize move to professional class members as defined by the PDGA.

Competitors have the option to decline the cash prize to retain their amateur status. Competitors who decline the cash prize are awarded merchandise equal to 75% of the prize value via NADGT.com or at TD discretion.

MA1/FA1/MA40/MA50 Division Payout:

  • Cash payout- official payouts to be announced 10/1/20.
  • MA2 – Regular A tier Amatuer Payout.

The NADGTDisc Golf team is a mark of prestige for the 2020 competitive season. The following team member benefits include:

  • Custom team apparel.
  • A team disc allowance
  • Entry fees to select tournaments in 2019
  • Team-exclusive incentives and prizes

NADGT reserves the right to make changes to tournament dates, field sizes, formats, prizes and locations. All such changes will be clearly communicated as necessary. NADGT reserves the right to make any changes to prizes, prize value or substitutions. In the event of a substitution, all efforts will be made to provide an alternative of equal or greater value. Prizes are non-transferrable, other than cash prizes which may be awarded to the Winner’s parent/legal guardian in the event they are a minor; Prize winners are solely responsible for all applicable taxes related to accepting the prize. Winners may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility, a liability release, publicity release (unless prohibited by law), and tax documents (the “Documents”). If the winner does not complete the required Documents as instructed and/or return the required Documents within the time period listed on the Winner notification message, the prize will be forfeited. NADGT reserves the right to award any forfeited prizes as they see fit, or not at all.
