Tour Handbook

Tour: Any Amateur Class disc golfers as defined by the PDGA.
-AND whose player rating does not exceed the divisional rating cap @ time of registration based on the following table:

MA1:  1005
MA40:  970
MA50:  935
MA60:  900

FA1:  905
FA40:  885
FA50:  865

Any Professional Class disc golfer as defined by the PDGA AND falls within the following guidelines based on the division they wish to compete in:

  1. MA1 Division: Player Rating less than 970 with yearly earnings less than $1,000 and career earnings less than $4,000
  2. MA40 Division:  Player Rating less than 935 for the with yearly earnings less than $500 and career earnings less than $2,000
  3. MA50 Division:  Player Rating less than 900 for the with yearly earnings less than $400 and career earnings less than $1,600
  4. MA60 Division:  Player Rating less than 850 for the with yearly earnings less than $300 and career earnings less than $1,200
  5. FA1 Division:  Player Rating less than 875 for the with yearly earnings less than $500 and career earning less than $2,000
  6. FA40 Division:  Player Rating less than 825 for the with yearly earnings less than $400 and career earnings less than $1,600
  7. FA50 Division:  Player Rating less than 775 for the with yearly earnings less than $300 and career earnings less than $1,200

These requirements are based on the time of qualification. They do not apply to participants of the NADGT National Championships.

PDGA Members and non-members are welcome to compete. At PDGA C Tier events, a $10 fee for non-PDGA members will be charged, but the PDGA will credit the $10 as a discount toward a new PDGA membership if the player would like to join the PDGA after the event.  

If a competitor does not currently have a PDGA player status/rating, please see the “competition and etiquette” portion of the player’s handbook.

If a PDGA member does not have amateur status with the PDGA at the time of competition, they are eligible to compete so long as they meet the PDGA qualifications for the “pros playing am” rule… Failure to comply with the rules will result in the competitor forfeiting any national or regional payout awards and/or invites to the National Championship.

REGISTRATION:

NADGT will seek to open registration a minimum of 3 weeks prior to any event whenever possible. NADGT events will be required to use Disc Golf Scene for tournament registration. All NADGT events and registration links may be found on the NADGT.Com website.

Registration for the National Championship Tournament is by invitation only; Qualified invitees will be sent registration information once they have qualified for an invitation as described in this handbook.
TD’s may add course fees to the registration process. Fees are not to exceed $9 without approval from NADGT. NADGT will oversee numbers to ensure funds are properly used and applied.

REFUNDS/WITHDRAWALS:

Exclusive/C-Tier Events: Refund requests made prior to player packs being ordered (approximately 2 weeks prior to event date) will be issued a 100% refund less DGScene and PayPal Fees
Refund requests made after player packs being ordered (approximately 2 weeks prior to event) will be issued a 20 percent refund less DGScene and PayPal fees and their players pack will be shipped directly to their address provided when registering for the event.
Affiliate: All competitor refunds are managed by the event TD and are to follow PDGA guidelines unless specifically noted.
State Championship Series/Premier Events/National Championship: Refund requests made prior to player packs being ordered (approximately 2 weeks prior to event date) will be issued a 100% refund less DGScene and PayPal Fees

LATE FEES:

A standard $8 for Exclusives/C-Tier Exclusive, $10 for State Championship Series/Premiers, late registration fee will go into effect when players packs are ordered for the event, approximately 7-10 days prior to the event.

Late fees sole purpose is for shipping of the player’s package directly to the player. No player’s pack will be available at the event for any player who incurred a late fee.

NO-SHOWS:

All events; Competitors will be treated as ‘no-shows’ if they do not check-in by the published time. Any no-show competitors who have not withdrawn as per above forfeit their entry fee and players package.

All National Amateur Disc Golf Tour Tournaments will follow the Official Rules of Disc Golf as defined by the Professional Disc Golf Association and the Professional Disc Golf Association Competition Manual for Disc Golf Events unless superseded or contradicted by any statement in this handbook.

All PDGA Divisions are hosted by the NADGT Tour and will be offered per the guidelines of the Professional Disc Golf Association and at the discretion of the TD. The NADGT National Championships, a PDGA Pro/Am Invitational tournament, will crown champions in the MA1(Competing as MPO), FA1(Competing as FPO), MA40(Competing as MP40), and MA50(Competing as MP50) FA40 (Competing FP40) only. MA60, FA50, MA2, FA2, MJ18, FJ18, MJ15 and FJ15 will be invited, and will be playing in the PDGA amateur side of the event.  Invites to MA3 and FA3 will be issued to compete in MA2/FA2 respectively.

Any exceptions to the Official Rules at a specific NADGT Tournament will be announced at the players meeting prior to the event.

All competitors in NADGT Tournaments are expected to compete with the highest integrity and respect for the Official Rules as defined by the PDGA. Any competitor guilty of misconduct is subject to disciplinary action up to disqualification by the Tournament Director. Any competitor disqualified from a NADGT Tournament automatically forfeits: any further participation in 2022 NADGT tournaments, prize payouts, player package, and, if applicable, refunds therefrom.

Any appeals must be made in writing via email to the NADGT Tour Director and allow a minimum of 3 weeks for response.

INVITES & POINTS SYSTEM

NADGT event competitors will receive invites and points when competing in all NADGT events including National Championships

Invitations to nationals vary based on level of NADGT Event as follows:

  • 5-8 In a division receive 1 Invite
  • 9-16 in a division receive 2 invites + ties
  • 17-24 in a division receive 3 invites + ties
  • 25-32 in a division receive 4 invites + ties
  • 33 or more in a division receive 5 invites + ties

Exclusive:

  • 5-10 In a division receive 1 Invite
  • 11-20 in a division receive 2 invites + ties
  • 21-30 in a division receive 3 invites + ties
  • 31-40 in a division receive 4 invites + ties
  • 41 or more in a division receive 5 invites +

 

    

C-Tiers, Cee-Times and Affiliates:

The 2022 NADGT hosts different type of events where competitors may earn NADGT Points and invites to National Championships.

9 Premier events around the country based on history and heritage.  PDGA Sanctioned A-Tier tournaments identified as NADGT Tour Premier events.  Tournaments are open to all qualifying competitors of any age, skill or gender.  All PDGA divisions are hosted by the NADGT Tour and will be offered per the guidelines of the Professional Disc Golf Association and at the discretion of the TD.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES EVENTS

50 Elite level events to highlight each of our state’s great venues and find their great players.  These PDGA Sanctioned B-Tier tournaments are focused on bringing the A-Tier experience to all players in all states.  Tournaments are open to all qualifying competitors of any age, skill or gender.  All PDGA divisions are hosted by the NADGT Tour and will be offered per the guidelines of the Professional Disc Golf Association and at the discretion of the TD.

Format:                                         Minimum 3 rounds of 18 holes

Entry Fee:                                    $75  *Additional course/facility fees may apply

These PDGA C-Tiers are new in 2022 and look to introduce NADGT to new demographics more affordably.  With two different format options consisting of TWO Shotgun Start rounds of 18 holes or ONE 18 hole round of tee times.  Tournaments are open to all qualifying competitors of any age, skill or gender.  All PDGA divisions are hosted by the NADGT Tour and will be offered per the guidelines of the Professional Disc Golf Association and at the discretion of the TD.

For every division Nationally contested with 10 or more competitors, year-end payouts will be awarded to each division as ranked by NADGT Points.  The NADGT season concluded Monday October 31st, 2022.  Total projected payout amounts by division nationally will be released prior to the end of the completion season and will be posted on NADGT.com

DESCRIPTION:

PDGA Pro/Am Invitational tournament for Amateurs Only; PDGA Sanctioned B/A tier Tournament. Thursday, October 28th thru Sunday, October 31st in Austin, Texas.

Courses:  10 courses to be announced by June 1st 2021. The delay is due to COVID restrictions.

Invitations to National Championship: Invitations to compete in the National Championships are earned by participating in the NADGT Tour.

NADGT reserves the right to have 5 Wildcard Invites to the National Championships.

Should a competitor already be invited to the National Championships, the invitation will be extended to the next qualifying competitor.

All ties will be broken by the higher of the most recent rated round and thereafter, if necessary, the next preceding round until the tie is broken.

Wildcard Invites: NADGT will award Wildcard invites at their will. When awarding invites NADGT Staff will seek to do so in a way that is fair and embraces the spirit and values of the tour.

NADGT staff may, at their discretion, set deadlines for decisions to ensure fairness to all involved. An invitation is considered accepted once the competitor registers for the tournament at www.discgolfscene.com.

Player Experience: National Championship Entry Fee: $200.

Player Package: The Players Package is valued at approximately $350-$400 and includes discs and other products from the Tour Sponsors.

Player Amenities: Entry includes breakfast and lunch each day of the competition; player dinners each evening except for Friday night.

NADGT National Team Members will be on-site for clinics and to enhance the player experience.

Custom Trophies for all Top Finishers.

National Championships Payouts: For 2021 NADGT payouts will include cash and those who accept the cash prize move to professional class members as defined by the PDGA.

Competitors have the option to decline the cash prize to retain their amateur status. Competitors who decline the cash prize are awarded merchandise equal to 75% of the prize value via NADGT.com or at TD discretion.

MA1/FA1/MA40/MA50 Division Payout:

  • Cash payout- official payouts to be announced 10/1/21.

FA40/MA2/FA2/MJ18/FJ18 Division Payout:

  • Regular A-tier Amateur Payout.

FA3/MA3*

  • All competitors who qualify for these 2 divisions will be invited to compete in the FA2/MA2 division for the National Championships.

 

NADGT reserves the right to make changes to tournament dates, field sizes, formats, prizes and locations. All such changes will be clearly communicated as necessary. NADGT reserves the right to make any changes to prizes, prize value or substitutions. In the event of a substitution, all efforts will be made to provide an alternative of equal or greater value. Prizes are non-transferrable, other than cash prizes which may be awarded to the Winner’s parent/legal guardian in the event they are a minor; Prize winners are solely responsible for all applicable taxes related to accepting the prize. Winners may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility, a liability release, publicity release (unless prohibited by law), and tax documents (the “Documents”). If the winner does not complete the required Documents as instructed and/or return the required Documents within the time period listed on the Winner notification message, the prize will be forfeited. NADGT reserves the right to award any forfeited prizes as they see fit, or not at all.
